I was looking at the registry data for AltaGas today. Logging 10 meetings with the Privy Council Office (basically the brain trust for the Prime Minister) in a single month is staggering. It illustrates how quickly corporations escalate when local infrastructure projects hit a wall. The Metlakatla First Nation pulled their support for the Ridley Island expansion, and suddenly AltaGas is leaning on the highest federal offices. It makes you wonder if local opposition even stands a chance when an energy giant can just call the PMO directly.

Indeed. I filed an ATIP straight away when I saw that.

Corey Hogan is my MP and a former University of Calgary vice-president.

He met with lobbyists from the Calgary Zoo? That haven of iniquity!

(That list is totally on-brand for Corey :-D He's a really good guy, and I'm proud to have him representing me in Parliament.)

Still glad we have this transparency, though!

Granted, I've only been doing this tracking for a few months but it seems odd that an individual MP was up there on the leaderboard as it's been mostly bureaucrats.

I think he has a perfectly good explanation and would be totally okay with this ;-)

For sure. I mean, it's not enough to get my spider sense tingling, though if he starts showing up on this list on a regular basis... well, then it might be worth a closer look.
