Rogers v. Rogers Subscriber Ticket Promo!
Sign up to get a discount to the hit one-man play and live podcast taping on Nov. 20

Ever since I started this thing back in October, I’ve been promising paid subscribers something extra in exchange for their support. I’m therefore super jazzed to deliver the first in a series of perks, benefits and all-around goodies: ticket discounts to the smash hit one-man play Rogers v. Rogers, plus a live podcast taping!
The show returns to Toronto’s Canadian Stage (Berkley Street Theatre) from Nov. 8 to Dec. 13 following its sold-out run at Crows Theatre last winter. Written by playwright Michael Healey and based on the eponymous book by Globe and Mail reporter Alexandra Posadzki, Rogers v. Rogers is both the hilariously told story of cable scion Edward Rogers’ battle with his family over his father’s empire and a scathing indictment of Canada’s monopoly problems.
As I wrote in my review in December, stage veteran Tom Rooney delivers a you-have-to-see-it-to-believe-it performance. Playing every character in this saga, including the main roles of Edward Rogers and Competition Commissioner Matthew Boswell, he masterfully relates a deeply human story against the sobering backdrop of how power is concentrated in this country.
Following the performance on Nov. 20, I’ll be hosting Healey and Posadzki on stage for a live podcast conversation. We’ll go behind the scenes of the book and the play and talk about the competition issues at the heart of the story.
In partnership with Crows Theatre and Canadian Stage, existing and new subscribers to Do Not Pass Go’s annual plan (only $80 a year) will get 10 per cent off select tickets to this performance. Simply sign up and email me at peter@donotpassgo.ca and I’ll send you a discount code.
But you better hurry because ticket quantities are limited!
