Dunkin's clearly taking a run at Timmy Ho's - they occupy the same corner of the market. We can drop patriotic pretensions there - RBI being co-American anyway, one supplanting the other is like people switching from dark cola A to dark cola B.

I know, not the point: the monopolization of junk food chains is part of a larger pattern of the increasing feudalisation of global economies.

I guess our choices are: put in the effort of critical mass collective action to push back, but we're too busy keeping our heads above water and too brainwashed to try anything that even brushes up against being dirty commies; or shut up and do as we're told, like good little consumers. The second option is the most convenient, which is why a majority of people will go for it.

Also, complaining about labour shortages is disingenuous: it's part of a narrative to justify abusing the Temporary Foreign Workers program to maximize shareholder ROI. When <industry_name_here> even indirectly complains about cost centres, they're running a grift.

Well, technically RBI is Canadian, but I know what you mean. The consolidation effects are particularly important when it comes to employees. Fewer bosses to choose from is never a good thing.

I don’t love Quesada but they’ll do if there’re no other options. Canada does not have much real Mexican food. The variety and quality of Mexican food down south always amazes me. And so many of them are small time taquerias.
