Norway's consumer council hit Big Tech hard with their video on worsening services. Here the government held the Competition Bureau merger notification threshold at $93 million for 2026. I checked the announcement at https://www.canada.ca/en/competition-bureau/news/2026/03/pre-merger-competition-bureau-notification-threshold-to-remain-at-93m-in-2026.html. It stops more deals from slipping past review. Feels like the right call for oversight.
I have just found this substack due to a recent post from Senator Deacon. I don't have time to review previous posts. I hope you have covered the ongoing cuts to the Competition Bureau as part of the govt-wide slash and burn - concerning.
