I doubt that Americans would tolerate a Canadian take of their national tourist sites.
That said I am sure how it will all shake out in the long run. It might benefit the sites with investments or it might a unaffordable tourist trap.
Banff is already pretty unaffordable, I stayed in Canmore the last time I was there. Jasper is too, though it's considerably more protected from development and harder to get to.
